What are Medical Observerships

Observerships are an opportunity for medical students or doctors to work with other physicians in a clinic or hospital setting. You will get a chance to observe how that specialty is practiced, get to interact with patients, and have supervised hands on experience in the field of medicine.

Why is it important

Observerships are important for the firsthand experience it allows for doctors. It gives you a chance to experience what practicing in a specialty may be like and develop your interest for that field. It also gives you a chance to obtain letters of recommendation which are needed for match applications. You can benefit from the networking that this experience would allow and this will be invaluable to your your residency applications and future career.

What’s Included

This will be a 2-4 week medical observership in a clinic or hospital setting in the specialty of your request. Oberverships may be in person in the US or virtual based on your preference.
